Power to the Payroll

We are delighted to be celebrating National Payroll Week 2020 (September 7 – 11) to recognise the important role that the payroll profession plays in our society.

Established over 20 years ago by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), the week demonstrates how the expertise of payroll professionals supports the collection of income tax and National Insurance revenue, contributing billions to the UK economy every year.

The personal touch

Our payroll department has grown significantly in recent years. It’s part of the Business Support division that provides a range of outsourced business services. Led by Partner Elaine Cromwell, our friendly team has been chosen for their knowledge, hands-on experience and people skills.

Payroll through the pandemic

Payroll professionals are key workers and have worked tirelessly throughout the lockdown to keep everyone paid.  There have been many hurdles the overcome with the Job Retention Scheme rules and various funding initiatives to navigate.  Our team faced these challenges head-on, blending home and office working to deliver a reliable, accurate service to clients. In the face of such overwhelming circumstances, it was one less thing for clients to worry about.

Over the coming week we will aim to give you some fascinating facts, payroll tips and a glimpse into the life of a payroll professional. And we promise it won’t be too taxing!
