2024 Autumn Budget Events

The 2024 Autumn Budget will take place on Wednesday 30 October and we will be running our Budget & Beyond Economic Update and Networking events in Edinburgh on Thursday 31 October and in Dunfermline on Friday 1 November.

This will be the first Budget under the new Labour Government and we have already been warned that the road ahead will be rocky. Speculation is rife on how Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will address the ‘£22 billion “black hole” in the nation’s finances’ that Labour stated was inherited from the Conservatives.

Join us for a summary of the Budget announcement and what lies beyond for businesses. Our speakers will cover changes in the tax regime that will impact both individuals and companies, and provide practical examples.

We are delighted to be joined by Marcus Wright at our Edinburgh event. Marcus is a Senior Economist with RBS with over 20 years’ experience. Marcus heads up the forecasting and scenarios team, and analyses the economic environment to inform the Bank’s strategy. His particular areas of interest are the UK and US economies, the energy transition and geopolitics.
