Big Changes for Sage Instant Accounts

Aug 24, 2016 | TC blog

Sage is changing the way they provide their services in line with many other accounting software providers. From February 1st, Sage scrapped their Sage Instant Accounts package and replaced it with Sage 50 Accounts Essentials. This new package has all the functionality of the old Sage Instant Accounts Plus with a little bit extra added.

For those still using Sage Instant Accounts this means –

• You can continue to use the software but any upgrades going forward would be under a monthly subscription or Annual License Plan. The fee structure is currently being revised.
• You can purchase the new Sage 50 Accounts Essentials via a monthly subscription or via an annual license plan. However, under both payment arrangements any cancellation will result in the program switching off and you would no longer be able to use the software.

Not sure what to do?

For some Instant Accounts users this change will provide an opportunity to see what other software solutions are available to meet their needs, including cloud solutions such as Sage One or Xero.  If you would like to know more about alternative software, we are hosting a session outlining the functionality of Xero, at our Dunfermline office on Wednesday 2nd March. If you need any further information including whether you should be switching to Sage 50 Accounts Essentials, please don’t hesitate to call Elaine Cromwell on 01383 628800 to discuss your individual needs.
