One hundred strong as we celebrate 75 years in business

As we welcome our 2024 trainee intake to the Thomson Cooper team this will break the one hundred employee milestone. It is another significant achievement for the firm as we celebrate 75 years in business, a testament to our passion and the thriving community we have built.

Our journey began in 1949 when founder T. Hunter Thomson and his business partner Harold Cooper acquired a small practice in Dunfermline. With perseverance and a commitment to excellence, we have expanded steadily over the years, navigating challenges, and celebrating successes along the way. The firm now has an office in Edinburgh, and we continue to operate as an independently owned firm, which is increasingly rare in the industry.

Welcome to Jovana, Keiran, David, Joshua, Keiran, Alicja and Emma

As we welcome our 100th employee, we can reflect on the values that have brought us here. The business has grown by having a clear purpose, which is to listen, advise and support our clients to achieve their goals. Our team delivers this through commitment, trust, intelligence, energy, integrity, and shared common goals. We have adopted a collaborative culture where staff have the opportunity to get involved.

Advancing technology has transformed our processes and how we deliver our services. Our range of services has also expanded and includes an outsourcing department and Virtual Finance Director option. This has been possible by embracing digitisation, as the real-time data produced saves client’s time and money and allows for more informed decision-making.

Andrew Croxford

Senior Partner Andrew Croxford added, “As we celebrate this milestone, it represents the strength of our community, the trust of our clients, and the promise of a bright future. We are grateful to every member of our team, past and present, for their dedication. This achievement is a testament to what we can accomplish together. We look forward to the next chapter, filled with new opportunities, challenges, and triumphs.”
